Today we went on a wild adventure along the Godavari River! We started off quite early in the morning and took about a 5 or 6 hour ride to our first village. Along the way we stopped and dropped off some goods and picked up some food for our group. The view was amazing! Tall mountains, sandy hills, monkey filled trees and a mysterious, hazy blanket covering the whole scene.
We stopped at 3 or 4 villages along the river; all of them were Koya villages, one of the unreached people groups we had worked with before! Now these island villages had never had foreigners visit before so we were a little nervous and excited. On the first island a man told us he had heard the Gospel before but was struggling to believe. At the end of our little service, he and quite a few other members of the village accepted Christ! The one village we went to was so interesting because we were there preaching the gospel and there was a temple and idol right behind the group gathered...talk about cultures clashing. Each island had people who accepted Christ. The last village was so welcoming and was very attentive when we began to preach. There were already some believers in that village and a few came with their own Bibles. This day was such an awesome experience - it was the one thing I saw myself doing on this trip. My main goal was to reach the totally unreached and we were able to do that! I pray that God grows their faith there and that the Pastor can continue to meet with them and teach them.
