Alrighty! We are catching up with the days, only one more blog today after this one. Day 6 was the most amazing days here so far. I don't have the words to describe it. Our morning started out with going to a children's home Veldurthy; this is a Banjara Orphanage; the Banjara are one of the unreached people groups we were able to work with. The culture there was more reserved so with our songs they didn't participate as much but still we had a great service there! Some of the girls braided our hair and put flowers in it so we looked "super duper!"
The next part of our day was so moving and emotional for me and many on our team. We went to a village church of the Chenchu people. This is yet another unreached people group we worked with; only 0.02% are Christ-followers. Their church was a very small stick hut that had a cement floor; we packed so many people in there. At the end of service 9 people stood to pray and accept Christ. It was so emotional seeing one woman cry and hearing how they wanted forgiveness and to be healed. God definitely has captured my heart for the Chenchu people. I was able to pray for a few of the women there and tears just began to flow. Please pray that they grow in their faith and are able to help change the world!
Our Chenchu friends also had us participate in one of their traditional dances! Now I know I have no rhythm but it was fun to join in.
The next place we went to was a Banjara church service. The people were very animated and enjoyed Pastor Mike's preaching! One little girl who was sitting by me was just on the ground softly touching and rubbing the top of my feet! It was so cute! It was a great day and 17 Banjara people came to know Christ. Praise the Lord!
I've got to say that our car rides have been wonderful! Though it's slightly terrifying at first, I feel completely safe now and am having a blast! Our driver and friend Suresh has been playing Indian Christian songs and we have been able to have dance parties! We are having so much fun on this trip doing the Lord's work and also just fellowshipping with our friends here!
