Day 4 of our trip was so amazing! Our group was able to return to Gonegandla Orphanage where we met and encouraged many widows and also handed them out saris to bring home. It was so awesome to see their hope and joy as they prayed and sang for us.
After meeting with the widows we were given a delicious lunch and special coffee! I don't think I could go back to drinking coffee found in America...not even Bustello!
We were able to see the room in which the calendars and dolls representing unreached people groups were made. There were thousands of beautiful dolls that we got to package up to sell. They are found through Global Partners' Nations Hope Store online! Funds help teach women how to sew and earn their own sewing machine.
It was a joy to play and talk with the kids again; they had us taking so many pictures! I even trusted them to hold my Nikon and take pictures (training some young photographers in India!). We did a few VBS songs which they loved dancing to and then they were able to bless us with their own special dances and songs! It was very hard to say goodbye, I know our whole group will miss that place and those children very much.
We were privileged to do some street preaching on our way to another destinations. It was so incredible; we sang a few English songs which drew a crowd and then our leader Johnathan and our translator Steeven began to preach the Gospel. So many people gathered around and many were very open to revive the Good News! Our leaders told us this was a big change as when the ministry here first started, the people would become angry, be closed hearted, and would even throw things at those preaching. Seeing all the hands go up and all the people praying was very moving.
Our last event of the night was the believers meeting. We met in a small church where Pastor Mike tag teamed with Steeven to preach a message on faith. We sang for them and they also sang many songs for us. Their music is so beautiful! It was so awesome seeing the believers gather together as one!
Continue to pray for our team as we travel to other children's homes, water wells, believers meetings, and unreached people groups.
